Dress for Success’ young professionals group raises more than $15,000 at Summer Soirée

Written by Lindsay Tooker

Dress for Success Houston raised more than $15,000 at their annual fashion event, Tootsies Summer Soirée.

Women of Wardrobe’s (WOW) Summer Soirée returned to Tootsies last week, welcoming 300 guests who raised more than $15,000 for Dress for Success. The event showcased fall fashions from this year’s featured designers Love the Label and Deepa Gurnani.

Event co-chairs Sarika Patel and Catherine Sdao were excited to be back in person after limited events in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “I think we all deserve a fabulous soirée after the past year and a half,” said Patel, who has been involved with WOW since 2015.

Next summer will mark the 20th Summer Soirée, which directly furthers WOW and Dress for Success Houston’s mission to empower women to achieve economic independence through networking, professional attire, and developmental resources.

Women of Wardrobe (WOW) is a young professionals group committed to supporting the community through volunteerism, fundraising, and social events. WOW’s goal is to support Dress for Success Houston to accomplish its overall mission.

Since 1998, Dress for Success Houston has provided business attire, a much-needed boost of confidence, and job retention and career advancement services to more than 45,000 women in the Houston community.
