Brown Foundation pre-application window opens October 1

The Brown Foundation’s next quarterly grant cycle opens October 1 with their pre-application.

The Brown Foundation has distributed more than $1.7 billion in grants in Houston and across the state of Texas over its 70-year history. Since inception, the Foundation has helped to build and sustain institutions that make Houston a world-class city, from leading educational institutions to renowned medical facilities to a vibrant arts ecosystem. Historically, highest priority has been placed on education and the arts.

Their application process may take up to six months, and includes the following steps:

  1. Pre-Application
  2. Pre-Application Review
  3. Pre-Approval Notification
  4. Proposal Submission
  5. Proposal Review
  6. Final Decision

The next pre-application deadlines are October 31, 2022 and January 31, 2023. Notification of pre-application status may take up to five months. Full grant application process information can be viewed here.
